Rules for using the Genealogia Polska portal
Effective 10 September 2026Genealogia Polska has operated since 1995. The portal enables users to build and share family trees and publishes resources supporting family-history research. The portal is operated by Genealogia Polska LLC.
Creating an account, automatic creation of a tree page, and building, storing and sharing a tree are free of charge regardless of the number of people, families or events or the size of the tree. Voluntary contributions are never required to register or use genealogy features. They may affect only the number of advertisements shown, as described for an account option.
Users provide accurate information required by the form, protect their password and do not give unauthorised people access to the account. The email address must be verified before a tree or photographs can be published. Suspected account compromise must be reported promptly.
Authors are responsible for the accuracy of submitted information and for having the rights or another lawful basis to publish texts, photographs and documents. Illegal, abusive, misleading, privacy-infringing or copyright-infringing content is prohibited. Each tree owner is solely responsible for the content, data and activities in their tree. Portal Administration is not responsible for the actions of tree owners or for materials they publish.
Information about living people must be protected. Non-public information is visible only to authorised people under the tree settings. Profile data, including email, telephone number, town and country, is not automatically published on person pages or disclosed in public statistics. Privacy requests concerning information in a particular tree must be sent to that tree’s owner through the contact link in its footer.
Users retain rights to materials they submit. They grant the portal a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, technically process and display them according to the selected privacy settings. Users may export GEDCOM and delete their own data within the available features and applicable law.
The portal uses safeguards and technical backups but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Users should periodically export their GEDCOM. Maintenance, failures or technical changes may temporarily limit access.
Administration may hide content, restrict or terminate an account when necessary for security, protection of living people, legal compliance, or material or repeated breaches of these terms. Where practicable, the user will be informed of the reason and allowed to remedy the breach. Trees that remain completely empty for a prolonged period may be removed after prior notice to their owner. A small non-empty tree will not be removed merely because of its size.
Genealogia Polska LLC is registered in Texas, USA. The portal observes laws applicable to its activities and users. These terms may change for important legal, organisational or technical reasons; material changes will be announced in the portal.
